Palette Knife Painting

WORKSHOP SUPPLIES – OIL

Oil Paint Colors – 150-200 ml tubes required:
• Soft mixing white or titanium white. (Please bring 2 tubes.)

• French ultramarine blue

• Cerulean blue

• Cadmium yellow light/pale

• Yellow ochre

• Cadmium red

• Burnt sienna

• Flesh (or similar)

Liquitex Painting Knives & Spatulas:
Palette knife #7
Palette knife # 12
Spatula #1
Spatula #10

Medium:
• Poppy oil for color mixing, and a small, well made spray bottle to put the oil in.
Painting Surface:
• Minimum of three large canvas surfaces (at least 16×20). Michaels sells the stretched canvases now in packages of 20.
• Masking tape to tape off edges

Required Equipment and Supplies:
• Two 11×14” or 11×17″ poster frames. The glass pops out from the front; I get mine at Michaels, they work the best.
• Two rolls of paper towels and utility rags.
• Small, clear plastic containers with lids to store unused paint
• Utility rags
• I will have gloves and plastic bags available (for waste disposal); no need for you to bring them.
NO MINERAL SPIRITS OR TURPS – PLEASE BRING GAMSOL (by Gamblin) IF YOU MUST
